Review
This review applies to version 3.1.
The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our

Samsung PC Studio allows you to easily manage the files in your Samsung mobile phone. The first step is to connect the Samsung mobile phone to the PC. You can choose and configure the type of connection that your phone uses: USB, Bluetooth, Infrared or Serial. By connecting your mobile phone to your PC you have access to your personal data and multimedia files. This professional tool allows you to transfer files from your PC to your Samsung mobile phone or to retrieve personal data from your phone like your phonebook and organizer. You can modify different multimedia files with the "Multimedia Manager" option. All you have to do is to import the files from your phone, PC or CD, edit them and then send the created files back to your phone. With the "Multimedia Player" you can reproduce multimedia files that are compatible with the phone (movies, sounds and multimedia messages). Samsung PC Studio also allows you to organize and edit your phone and multimedia messages on your PC or to create new multimedia messages directly on your PC and send them via the mobile phone. This application offers interesting features, such as an option to synchronise the data saved in the phone and the data saved in the PC, and a Networking Wizard that allows you to connect to the Internet using your mobile phone as a modem.
Pros: You get hours and hours of practice trying to undo the downloaded trouble
Cons: Eventually you have to face the fact that your machine must be fixed by a professiona£.
Comment: I had Samsung pc studio 3 installed about 3 years ago but recently I wasn't able to close it unles I
did the Ctrl -Alt-Delete and select the Task Manager. So as everything I tried didn't cure the
problem, so I decided to completely uninstall it with the intention of reinstalling it again.
Biggest mistake ever!!! I've somehow downloaded something that is causing havoc with my pc and watch
out for something called, 'error tec'. It takes over your pc and causes things to stop working, like
for instance, Internet Explorer. The worse thing is, it can't be unninstalled. When I try it from,
Programs and features, I get a red cross warning saying that it doesn't exist and it can't be
uninstalled. I've tried to get to it from a couple of routes but my knowledge about computers is
limited to home user, still learning. I now want to reinstall/ download the Samsung pc suite but I don't know for sure which 'DOWNLOAD'
link I should click on. On one site for Samsung pc studio 3 their are 4 'Download' links and I'm
unsure which is the correct one for the actual pc suite, I don't want to make the same mistake as
before when I thought I was clicking the Download for the samsung pc suite but it was something that
has caused me so much grief that I need to take my laptop to somewhere like Pc World to have it
fixed.
Cons: afraid to complete install if not certified for XP
Comment: In order to be able to transfer photos from my Samsung Smooth to my laptop, I purchased a cable for
connecting the two via USB, which came with a CD with Samsung PC Studio. Windows popped a warning message saying the software is not certified for XP, even though the help
file for the software says the system requirement is "Windows 2000 or XP family". I am running XP Pro SP3.
Remembering vividly what happened a few years ago when I ignored a similar message trying to install
I guess a too-old version of pcAW, I aborted the install. Removing the CD and letting the install wizard look on Windows Update didn't help, it reported not
being able to find it there. Currently the phone doesn't show up anywhere in My Computer even though the cable is plugged in. So
it appears the software is necessary. I see one message below advising to use a SD card instead, but
AFAIK this phone doesn't have anywhere to insert one. The CD title is PCSTUDIO3EK1 and somewhere I saw something that said copyright 2005. ???
Cons: wastes an enormous amount of my time to perform a basic task - copying pictures off the cellphone
Comment: All I wanted was to get photos taken with the built-in camera onto my computer. Now, the simplest way to do this would've been to let me plug it in via microusb to usb and get the
pictures off as if it were a usb driver. Lacking a microsim card for their version of this, I downloaded the samsung new pc studio. In short, it connects and I see my phone when I follow the steps, and I start copying my pictures.
After the third one or so it will freeze up and nothing I have tried (switching order, trying to do
other things, plugging and replugging in of course and a bunch of varieties thereof) will allow me
to get any more pictures off short of a full restart of the computer.
